Your home's wiring is something you rarely see, but it powers absolutely everything.
And when it starts to fail, the warning signs often appear in ways that are easy to dismiss, until they aren't.
Flickering lights. Breakers that won't stop tripping. Outlets that work intermittently. Burning smells with no obvious source.
These aren't random annoyances. They're your home telling you something is wrong behind the walls.

Our licensed electricians diagnose the real problem, explain your options honestly, and complete the work safely, correctly, and fully to code.
Signs You May Need Wiring Work in Arvada
Your Home May Be Trying to Tell You Something.
These are the most common warning signs we see before wiring issues become serious safety hazards:
• Lights that flicker or dim unexpectedly
• Breakers that trip frequently or won't reset
• Outlets or switches that feel warm or hot
• Burning or melting smell with no visible source
• Discolored or scorched outlet and switch covers
• Outlets that only work intermittently
• Sparking when plugging in devices
• Buzzing or crackling sounds from walls or outlets
• Circuits that can't handle normal household electrical loads
• A home built before 1980 that has never had electrical updates
• Two-prong outlets without grounding protection
• Frequent power fluctuations in parts of the home
If any of this sounds familiar, don't wait.
Wiring problems don't resolve on their own, and they rarely get cheaper to fix over time.

If your wiring is outdated or damaged, it's not something to ignore.

Why Wiring Issues Are Common in Denver Metro Homes
Denver metro is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, but a large portion of its housing stock is decades old.
That combination creates unique electrical challenges for homeowners.
Many neighborhoods throughout the metro area contain homes built in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s that still have original wiring systems.
Knob and tube wiring, aluminum branch circuit wiring, and ungrounded two-prong systems were common in their time, but they are not considered safe or sufficient by today's standards.
Rapid growth across Colorado has also created a wave of additions, basement finishes, garage conversions, and remodels, many completed by previous owners without permits or licensed electrical work.
We regularly discover unsafe wiring hidden behind finished walls that was never inspected or properly brought up to code.
Add in Colorado's extreme weather cycles, the electrical demands of modern appliances and electronics, the rise of EV chargers and home offices, and it's easy to see why wiring problems are so common across the Denver metro area.
The good news is that most wiring problems are completely fixable.
The key is identifying them before they become dangerous.

Is Rewiring Worth It?
Honest Answer: It Depends, and We'll Tell You the Truth Either Way.
Rewiring is a major investment, and we understand that.
Here's how we approach it honestly.
Rewiring is usually worth it when:
• Your home has knob and tube wiring or extensive aluminum branch circuit wiring
• You've experienced electrical fires, scorch marks, or persistent burning smells
• Your insurance company is flagging your electrical system for coverage concerns
• You're planning a major remodel or addition anyway
• Your home consistently struggles with normal electrical loads
• The wiring condition creates ongoing safety concerns or repeated repair issues
Rewiring may not be necessary when:
• The issue is isolated to one area or one circuit
• Your wiring is otherwise in good condition and the problem is a failing device or loose connection
• Targeted repairs can safely resolve the issue completely
We never recommend a full rewire simply to sell a larger project.
Our electricians assess your specific situation, explain exactly what we found, and give you honest options at every price point.
Our goal is to keep your home safe, not run up your bill.
Whether you're finishing a basement, building an addition, wiring a garage, or simply adding circuits to support a modern electrical load, we install new wiring safely, professionally, and fully to code.
• New construction wiring and rough-in
• Basement and addition wiring
• Garage and outbuilding wiring
• Home office and dedicated workspace circuits
• Kitchen and bathroom circuit additions
• Outdoor lighting and power wiring
• EV charger circuit installation
• Appliance circuit installation
• Smart home and low-voltage wiring
• Dedicated circuits for HVAC systems and mini splits
• Surge protection installation
• Commercial wiring installations
Not every wiring issue requires a full rewire.
Many electrical problems can be corrected with targeted repairs that are faster, safer, and more affordable.
We always recommend the most practical solution, not the most expensive one.
• Loose or damaged wire connection repairs
• Burned or melted wire replacement
• Junction box repairs and corrections
• Aluminum wiring repairs and pigtailing
• Grounding corrections and upgrades
• Arc fault and ground fault corrections
• Wiring repairs behind walls using non-invasive methods when possible
• Code violation corrections
• Inspection repair wiring corrections
• Circuit troubleshooting and repair
• Electrical fire damage repairs
Sometimes repairs are no longer enough.
If your home has knob and tube wiring, extensive aluminum branch circuit wiring, or deteriorated wiring beyond repair, a full or partial rewire is often the safest long-term solution.
We complete rewiring projects with as little disruption to your home as possible while ensuring every system is safe, reliable, and code compliant.
• Full home rewiring
• Partial rewiring for specific rooms or areas
• Knob and tube wiring replacement
• Aluminum branch circuit rewiring
• Two-prong to three-prong grounded system upgrades
• Panel-to-outlet wiring replacement
• Service upgrades coordinated with rewiring projects
• Permitted and inspected work on every project

Joey came out and did a fantastic job looking over and cleaning my system for the winter. I had someone come out earlier in the year, but it felt more like he was trying to get me to buy a new system than help with my existing. Joey looked over the system, gave a few small but very helpful suggestions, and cleaned it. Could not recommend these folks enough.

I had purchased an oven and needed an outlet swap as soon as possible. Lance came out right at the beginning of the service window, was very thorough during the estimate procedure and was extremely knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions I had about my circumstance. Couldn't be happier with the communication and service performed. I will definitely utilize this company again in the future.

Just moved into our new (2000 build) house and Joey came out to do winter maintenance on our furnace. This company was recommended from the former owner. Joey was professional, polite and very helpful - showing me how to change the furnace filter and the humidifier pad. He cleaned out the furnace, inspected the system, (which is newer) and told me everything was in good shape – didn’t try to sell me anything extra. I like them and will use them again.

1. How do I know if my home needs rewiring?
The most common indicators include frequent breaker trips, flickering lights throughout the home, outlets that feel warm or work inconsistently, burning smells with no obvious source, and visible scorching around outlets or switches.
Homes built before 1980 that have never received electrical updates often deserve professional evaluation, especially homes with knob and tube or aluminum wiring.
The best way to know for certain is through a professional inspection.
We'll tell you honestly whether repairs or rewiring make more sense for your home.
2. How long does a full home rewire take?
Most full home rewires take between 3 and 7 days depending on the size of the home, accessibility, and the complexity of the existing wiring system.
Partial rewires are often completed in 1 to 2 days.
We'll provide a realistic timeline during your assessment so you know exactly what to expect.
Most homeowners can remain in the home during the project, although power will be temporarily shut off to sections of the house during portions of the work.
3. Is aluminum wiring dangerous?
Aluminum branch circuit wiring, commonly installed between the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, carries a higher fire risk than copper wiring if not properly maintained or corrected.
Aluminum expands and contracts differently than copper, which can loosen connections over time and create overheating or arcing.
It is not automatically an emergency, but it should absolutely be evaluated by a licensed electrician.
Solutions may include pigtailing connections with copper or full rewiring depending on the condition of the system.
4. What is knob and tube wiring, and is it safe?
Knob and tube wiring was standard in homes built before the 1940s.
It consists of individual insulated wires run through ceramic knobs and tubes inside walls and attics.
The main concerns are lack of grounding, deteriorated insulation, and electrical capacity far below modern household demands.
Many insurance companies will not insure homes with active knob and tube wiring or may charge significantly higher premiums.
If your home has knob and tube wiring, we strongly recommend having it evaluated professionally.
5. Will I need to move out during a rewiring project?
Usually no.
Most homeowners remain in their home during rewiring projects.
Power will be temporarily shut off to sections of the home while work is being completed, but we coordinate the project carefully to minimize disruption.
We'll explain exactly what to expect before work begins.
6. How much does rewiring a home usually cost?
Rewiring cost depends on the size of the home, accessibility of walls and attic spaces, the type of existing wiring, and the scope of the project.
Partial rewires are naturally less expensive than complete whole-home rewiring.
We provide detailed, transparent estimates after evaluating your home.
Financing options are available.
7. Does rewiring require permits in Colorado?
Yes.
Significant wiring work in Colorado requires permits and inspections.
Permits verify the work was completed safely, to code, and independently inspected.
Unpermitted electrical work can create insurance problems, resale complications, and major safety concerns.
We pull all required permits and coordinate inspections on every rewiring project.
Need Wiring or Rewiring Service? Let's Get It Done Right.
Don't put off wiring concerns. They don't improve on their own, and they rarely get cheaper to fix over time.
